Proton Pump Inhibitors (PPIs) are a group of medications that reduce production of gastric acid secretion. They are one of the most widely used class of medication used in the world and have been considered very beneficial for a variety of conditions. These medications include Omeprazole (Prilosec®, Zegerid®), Lansoprazole (Prevacid®), Dexlansoprazole (Dexilant®), Rabeprazole (Aciphex®), Pantoprazole (Protonix®) and Esomeprazole (Nexium®). These medications are used to treat a variety of conditions such as:

  • GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease)
  • Barrett’s Esophagus
